Stueve Construction, LLC is a design, engineering and construction firm focused primarily on the construction of dry fertilizer storage facilities. Stueve is looking for an Estimator to join our company based in Algona IA. The Estimator will be responsible to perform quantity take-offs, labor and equipment pricing.  In addition the estimator will work with equipment manufacturers, subcontractors, and other vendors to assemble pricing for estimates.  This position will also closely with design engineers, drafters, purchasing and field superintendents.   This position does require candidate to relocate to Algona. 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform material and labor take-off using Timberline
  • Work with Engineering and drafting to verify constructability and design concepts
  • Navigate AutoCAD to verify dimensions
  • Communicate with equipment manufacturers on pricing for turnkey projects

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Accredited degree in Construction Management or similar
  • 5 years experience preferred
  • Proficient in Timberline Estimating software
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD primarily to confirm dimensions
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical and math skills
  • Ability to read and understand engineering documents and red lined revisions made to such documents
  • Proficient in concrete and lumber/framing take-offs
  • Strong ability to read blueprints
  • Ability to use unit pricing to develop quick budgets
  • Good organizational, written and verbal communication skills
